Route update:

A few concrete things are:

• Will begin in (or near to) Berlin!
• Our kick off days are likely to be the weekend of the 12th July
• We will pass through Vienna in late July / early August
• The route could then EITHER curve slightly west from Vienna to the adriatic coast [...] OR curve east to Romania

Something like: Berlin / German Polish Border / Czech republic / Vienna / Slovakia Hungary Border / Hungary / Novi Sad / Serbia / Romania

• We are trying to incorporate a little bit of the Danube and the Iron Curtain Trial

We are still open for suggestions of groups, projects, actions and communities to join, that are related in some way to this years theme of ‘Borders’, 'Global Justice', ' or just a really amazing place/project that could do with a hand or we could offer relevant skills share...

Check out the Route page of the wiki for projects that we are already aware of....or at least the public ones ;) ....we obviously cannot possible visit them all - but still wanted to share this resource... made by you!

Funding Update

Unfortunately - due to unforeseen circumstances - we did not get the funding we were banking on for this year, leaving the coordination crew...that's us... slightly more panicked than before ;)

Call for Translators!!:

We need translators for this mailing list, our website, flyers and printed materials for the countries we are passing though or near including:::::

German / Polish / Czech / Slovak / Hungarian / Serbian / Croatian / Slovene / Romanian / Bulgarian / Romani and also French / Spanish / Portuguese / Catalan / Italian ... or any other local language you can translate!!

Call for Artists & poets

• We are always looking for illustrators or graphic artists that can design us some flyers or illustrations for the website pages, booklets, stickers, logos... preferably using Free Libre Open Source Software http://btwiki.ecobytes.net/Suggestions_for_FLOS_biketour_IC_tools

• We also need slogans for this year. Other than the "theme" (i.e. "borders"), the slogans should be a short and catchy sentence, expressing something positive and active (e.g. "Cycling for change"). We can use all your creativity on our publications, paint them on banners, etc. There can be different slogans in different languages, too!

Two of us are currently based in Berlin, if you are in Berlin and could help with the organising in some way – do get in touch!

We also hope to organise regular open meetings that you could attend to find out more or maybe see you at this Friday's Critical Mass! (20:00, Heineplatz, Berlin).

1) Route: Ein paar konkrete Infos sind bereits:

• Wir werden in (oder in der Nähe von) Berlin starten!
• Unsere Vorbereitungs- und Losfahr-Tage werden um das Wochenende des 12.7. herum stattfinden
• Wir werden Ende Juli / Anfang August in Wien sein
• Die Route könnte dann ENTWEDER leicht nach südwesten in Richtung Adria abbiegen ODER nach osten Richtung Rumänien gehen
• Irgendwas wie: Berlin / Deutsch-Polnische Grenze / Tschechien / Wien / Slowakisch-Ungarische Grenze / Ungarn / Novi Sad / Serbien / Rumänien
• Wir versuchen, Teile der Donau und des Eiserner-Vorhang-Radwegs in die Route zu integrieren

Wir freuen uns weiterhin über Vorschläge bzgl. Gruppen, Projekte, Aktionen und Gemeinschaften, zu denen wir hinzustoßen können, die in irgendeiner Weise mit dem Jahresthema „Grenzen“, Gerechtigkeit, sozialer Wandel, Umwelt zu tun haben. Oder einfach alle möglichen anderen tollen Orte/Projekte, die Hilfe benötigen und wo wir mit anpacken oder ein paar Fähigkeiten austauschen könnten...

Seht auf der Routen-Seite im Wiki, welche Projekte wir bis jetzt gefunden haben... jedenfalls die Öffentlichen ;) .... Wir können klarerweise nicht alle besuchen, trotzdem macht es Sinn, die ganze Liste mit euch zu teilen: Etwas, das ihr geschaffen habt!

3) Aufruf: Übersetzungen Wir brauchen Übersetzungen für unsere Website, Flyer und gedruckte Materialien für die Sprachregionen, durch die oder an denen vorbei wir fahren ::::: Deutsch / Polnisch / Tschechisch / Slowakisch / Ungarisch / Serbisch / Kroatisch / Slowenisch / Rumänisch / Bulgarisch / Romani, aber auch Französisch / Spanisch / Portugiesisch / Katalanisch / Italienisch ... oder jede andere lokale Sprache, die ihr übersetzen könnt! 4) Aufruf: Kunst und Poesie Wir suchen immer nach Illustrator_innen oder Grafikdesigner_innen, die uns ein paar Flyer oder Illustrationen machen können: Für die Webseiten, Pamphlete, Aufkleber, Logos... Am Liebsten unter der Verwendung von Freier, Offener und Quelloffener Software http://btwiki.ecobytes.net/Suggestions_for_FLOS_biketour_IC_tools Wir brauchen auch Slogans für dieses Jahr. Anders als das „Motto“ (= „Grenzen“) sollte der Slogan ein kurzer und einprägsamer Satz sein, der etwas Positives und Aktives ausdrückt (wie z.B. „Radeln für den Wandel“). Wir können unserer Kreativität in unseren Publikationen, auf unseren Bannern, etc. freien Lauf lassen. Es kann außerdem in unterschiedlichen Sprachen unterschiedliche Slogans geben!
