Belarus will introduce the new Belarusian ruble (BYN) on the 1st of July 2016, replacing the old Belarusian ruble (BYR) at a rate of 1:10000. Until the 31st of December 2016, both currencies will be accepted. Let’s make sure not to get ripped off and accidentally use the wrong currency! New Belarusian ruble notes have “2009” written on the top of the white area in the front (that’s the year when they were printed). All coins are new Belarusian rubles.
