During the biketour this year (2010) we had a couple of good discussions on the next biketours... we know that we will keep the name 'Ecotopia Biketour' even if we don't go to the gathering Ecotopia.

The idea of a biketour for degrowth also had a lot of energy, from within the movement too (francois talked about the idea at a degrowth meeting in france) which is very strong in latin countries, yet not so much anywhere else in Europe.
Writing a funding application to get bicycles for people from poorer countries is a good idea and has worked before when it was in an eastern country. (Bulgaria??)
Here are some themes that could be interesting for Biketour at Italy:
- Alternative Energy Production (workshops about the use of Solar Power)
- Alternative Mobility Solution (workshops about the use of Human Pedal Power)

After having encountered too many complications, our two coordinators stopped organising the project. But as there is still a lot of enthusiasm and good energy, we still want to make BT 2011 and its wonderful route happen, based on all the great job done so far by Anna and all the help we'll get untill the beginning of the BT.

Ecotopia Biketour 2011 will be in Italy from the 26th of July until the 31th of August. The main theme of the tour is sustainable agriculture. A map + a detailed itinerary (when we'll be where) soon to come!
