We manage to arranged some detailed maps for the route each area (Catalonia, France, Italy) has a diferent zoom and quality, we tried to get detailed enough maps and minimize the number of maps, ended up with 32 diferent maps for the whole route separated in 3 different ZIP files for each area.

Route Maps on G$$gle

The route till now is based mostly on google maps and some information got on the web, they will still change when we get access to proper maps and some parts need to be checked in person (mostly the crossing from Gap to Torino).

These are not reliable to know where we will be when, you need to check the route above which is more up to date.

• Montpellier -> Avignon (not direct route - going north near Cévennes National Park)
• Avignon -> Marseille - Éourres (end part seems a bit hilly for no reason, maybe we can go around by Sisteron)
• Éourres -> Gap -> Torino (crossing the alpes need more investigation - probably on the cyclocamp alice and joão will try to cycle this part - it still looks like we could try to go in valleys instead of crossing so many hills)
• Torino -> Bologna
• Bologna -> Venice

The EV8 (EuroVelo Route 8) should be followed and we can make deviations from it to visit some projects and places: informaton on EuroVelo

Catalunia detailed maps (1:250000) were found (easily downloadble) on Institut Cartogràfic de Catalunya Cartoteca Online)

France detailed maps can also be find in 'Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière GeoPortal (easy to navigate online but not so easy to download them)

- Les reencontres Des amis de S!lence (http://amies.revuesilence.net/spip.php?article73) a bit more north from foix, in Loubières, from 9 to 24 july it's a self-managed camp, but besides that there is not much information, they were conected with the Camp Action Climate 2009 in Nantes - sounds great, it was the start of ZAD, but last year information don't look like an active/activist gathering but more a sharing information/workshops - probably 100% in french as it dosen't look like they plan ot make an international call-out

Marseille Water financialisation Youcef's bike workshop, they have plan to host us, we need to link them with other collectives to make a nice action there...

ideas to cross the alps

• • We need to count 20/30km per day
  • Near the sea, next to monaco - not so fun, full of tourists and traffic
  • Barcelonnette - at less tan 1400m high seems like the less hard/more fun place to cross
  • Briançon - the one that makes more sense after passing by L'Ecolieu Tilia & Compagni
